Valley Settlement is a dynamic team of educators and leaders that works in community to bring six different two-gen programs to Latinx immigrant families in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. Alma Peer

The Alma Peer position is part of the Family Support Team (FST) at Valley Settlement. The Alma Peer will work with participants who are experiencing postpartum depression and conduct one-on-one visits utilizing a method based on Behavioral Activation. Sessions with participants are aimed at supporting them in gathering skills to help cope with emotions. Early Childhood Lead Teacher for Family, Friends and Neighbors Program

The Family, Friends and Neighbors (FFN) program provides informal, in-home childcare providers the skills and tools they need to ensure children are in a safe and healthy environment. The FFN team provides support and coaching to providers with the goal of improving safety, nutrition, and early childhood development for the children in their care. FFN providers commit to a two-year in-home coaching and training program to improve the quality and safety of care for more than 140 children in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The Lead Teacher will work specifically with children in the FFN program ages 0-5 in the home of the provider. This position is key to the success of Valley Settlement in providing quality early childhoods to children who do not have access to preschool. FFN Licensure Navigator

The FFN Licensure Navigator is part of the Family Friends and Neighbors Team (FFN) at Valley Settlement. The FFN Licensure Navigator will become well-versed in the different avenues of becoming a licensed or qualified exempt (QE) in-home childcare provider through the State of Colorado, then work directly with FFN providers in Eagle County to support them through the licensure or QE process. The work will include research, conversations with appropriate state and county licensure experts, provider recruitment, and one-on-one home visits with providers. The FFN Licensure Navigator will also bring components of Valley Settlement’s FFN program curriculum to participating providers, including provision of materials and childcare supports.
