Valley Settlement is a dynamic team of educators and leaders that works in community to bring six different two-gen programs to Latinx immigrant families in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. We are a fun, diverse group of people seeking to create a more equitable, inclusive, and just society for all. Alma Peer

The Alma Peer position is part of the Family Support Team (FST) at Valley Settlement. The Alma Peer will work with participants who are experiencing postpartum depression and conduct one-on-one visits utilizing a method based on Behavioral Activation. Sessions with participants are aimed at supporting them in gathering skills to help cope with emotions. Associate Director of Development

The Associate Director of Development (ADOD) is responsible for building and maintaining a strong base of supporters across all funding sources, including individuals, foundations, corporations, government, and event sponsors. In collaboration with the Development & Communications Director, the ADOD will manage cultivation events, program tours, and Foundation site visits, coordinate grant proposals, write grant reports, solicit donor gifts and ensure effective donor stewardship. Babysitter

Adult Focused Programs (AFP) provides Latinx adults with tools and opportunities to help pave a better future for themselves and their families in the Roaring Fork Valley. AFP is comprised of two distinct programs: Lifelong Learning and Parent Mentor. Through the Lifelong Learning program, Valley Settlement offers English, Spanish literacy, math, computer skills, and more to help provide a catalyst for further education and professional advancement. Through the Parent Mentor Program, adults volunteer inside the Roaring Fork School District elementary schools creating a strong relationship between Latinx families and public schools.

We know that a lack of babysitting and transportation can be a big barrier for parents pursuing their education or volunteer opportunities; that is why babysitting services are provided for adult programs to those who need it, freeing up parents to focus on theirs. The AFP Babysitter is responsible for supervising and caring for participants’ children in a fun and safe environment, while they attend adult programs. Click here to learn more and apply…

ESL Teacher

The Lifelong Learning program at Valley Settlement is a free adult education program for all. We encourage participants to be part of the community and support them in their personal and educational growth by providing classes in math, literacy, English, computer, and more. Family & Community Support Manager

Our dedicated Family Support Team offers wraparound services to all Valley Settlement participants and the community. Family Navigators conduct home visits, assist families in times of crisis, and provide important one-on-one support to connect families with the resources they need to thrive.

Peer compañeras, who are trained in peer mentoring, provide a peer-to-peer mental health support program for mothers who are going through post-partum depression. Click here to learn more and apply…

Family Educator

The Family, Friends and Neighbors (FFN) program provides informal, in-home child care providers the skills and tools they need to ensure children are in a safe and healthy environment. The FFN team provides support and coaching to providers with the goal of improving safety, nutrition, and early childhood development for the children in their care. FFN providers commit to a two-year in-home coaching and training program to improve the quality and safety of care for more than 140 children in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The FFN Family Educator will focus on educating providers through home visits, group sessions and field trips to improve the quality of care for the children. Lifelong Learning Coordinator & Teacher

The Lifelong Learning Coordinator & Teacher is committed to developing relationships with the participants and providing them constructive feedback to help them improve and grow. The Coordinator & Teacher will be understanding and attentive to participant needs, inside and outside of the classroom, and have a passion for the education field.
