Our dedicated Family Support Team works with Valley Settlement participants and families throughout the community, offering resource navigation support and facilitating access to vital community resources. Family Navigators conduct home visits, support in completing applications, assist in times of crisis, and provide important one-on-one support to connect families with the resources they need to thrive. Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse

Advocate Safehouse Project

Description: Advocate Safehouse Project is a domestic violence service near Glenwood Springs, CO providing help for people dealing with domestic abuse.

Services include:

  • Safehouse Program
    • Provides emergency shelter for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their children
  • Outreach Program
    • The Outreach (non-residential) Program (English and Spanish) works with victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and sex trafficking. This program offers inclusive support and accompaniment through the legal process, advocacy, safety planning, information/referrals, translating services, identifying resources, case management, survivor education, peer support, and collaborating with other community resources to maximize benefits for mutual survivors.
  • Virtual Support Groups
    • For adult survivors of domestic and sexual violence-free, offered weekly.
    • Offered in both languages.

RESPONSE

Description: RESPONSE is a local nonprofit whose mission is to work with our community to end domestic and sexual abuse and to support survivors. They offer support services (bilingual and free) for survivors of domestic violence and sexual harassment, including:

Women, Infants, and Children

Description: Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a program that supports women, infants, and children under 5 years of age. WIC helps with healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and health care referrals outside of WIC.

Who is eligible for WIC:

  • Pregnant Women
  • Breastfeeding Women
  • Postpartum Women (up to 6 months after delivery)
  • Infants and Children up to the age of 5
